Hello my lovely crochet friends and welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m so excited to share one of my absolute favorite quick projects with you. If you’ve been searching for a very easy crochet heart keychain tutorial, this is the perfect beginner-friendly version to try right now! It works up in just a few minutes and makes the cutest handmade gift, bag charm, or even a sweet Valentine’s decoration. Grab your tea, pick your favorite yarn color, and let’s start stitching together! 🧶❤️

✅ Materials:
-
Worsted weight yarn (any color you like)
-
Crochet hook (usually size 3.5 mm – 4 mm for worsted yarn)
-
Yarn needle
-
Scissors
-
Keychain ring
-
A bit of polyfill (optional, if you want a puffy heart)

🧷 Abbreviations (US terms):
-
ch = chain
-
sc = single crochet
-
dc = double crochet
-
sl st = slip stitch
-
tr = treble crochet

❤️ Pattern – Make 2 Hearts:
Start with a magic ring (or ch 4 and join with sl st to form a ring)
-
Ch 3 (counts as dc), then work all into the ring:
-
3 tr, 3 dc, 1 ch, 1 tr (this makes the point of the heart),
-
3 dc, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st into ring.
🎉 Boom! You’ve made one side of the heart. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
🔁 Make two of these if you want a 3D, stuffed heart.

🧷 Assembly:
-
Place the two hearts together (wrong sides facing).
-
Use the yarn needle to sew around the edge with a whip stitch or sc around with your hook.
-
If stuffing, add a little filling before fully closing.
-
Attach a keychain ring through the top (you can add a loop of chain stitches or just sew it in).

🧡 Optional Customizations:
-
Embroider initials or little designs
-
Use multicolor or ombré yarn
-
Add beads, charms, or small buttons
